Do you remember this one from the 1960s? It is the only piece from Asia to ever top the Billboard Charts. And it works great on the hammered dulcimer. I was inspired by the version of the great Tommy Emmanuel. There are some cool chords in this piece giving us the opportunity to cover the relative minor, the parallel minor, secondary dominants, and a diminished 7th chord. Don’t let any of that scare you as I will walk you through all of it. We cover the following: the rationale for the chord progression in-depth, along with the hammering, (tackling the melody phrase by phrase), several arrangements that use a variety of techniques/ideas (also walking you through every phrase), an intro/outro, an accompaniment, and practice tracks.
